Marcus J. Hale

Marcus J. Hale founded LexForge in 2011 after more than a decade as a Deputy District Attorney for San Diego County, where he tried more than 60 felony cases to verdict. That prosecutorial experience gave Marcus a rare vantage point: he understands precisely how the other side builds its case and where it is most vulnerable.

After earning his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law, Marcus honed his craft inside the courtroom before making the move to plaintiffs' and defense work. He has since recovered in excess of $62 million for personal injury victims and their families, and achieved acquittals or dismissals in the vast majority of criminal matters he has taken to trial.

Marcus leads with preparation. Every matter is trial-ready from day one — a discipline instilled during his years as a prosecutor, where insufficient preparation was never an option. Clients describe him as direct, strategic, and fiercely loyal. He does not take cases he does not believe in.

Outside the courtroom, Marcus is an AV Preeminent–rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell and a perennial Super Lawyers selection. He lives in La Jolla with his family and volunteers as a mock trial coach for San Diego Unified School District.
